NORTHERN LIGHTS. The Story of Lord Derwentwater.
London. Constable, 1959., Biography of James Radcliffe, 3rd Earl of Derwentwater. He was born 1689, & executed in 1716 for his part in the 1715 Jacobite Northumberland Uprising. When he died he had a small son & his young wife was expecting their 2nd baby. This account ends 1870 when most of the estate was sold, to settle a claim from a descendent. 268 pages including index. Illustrated with 7 b. & w. portraits & paintings, and facsimiles of letters. Near fine except the bottom corners are bumped, & a bookplate on the f.e.p. D./w. is worn & torn, with a piece 1½" x 1¼" in the middle of the spine is missing. 8.75" x 5.75". 1959
